DHS hopeful Clarke denies plagiarism in master’s thesis – ABC News

Let me just start by saying that plagiarism is not the biggest problem in this picture.  The problem here is a corrupt law enforcement official who is now trying to infiltrate our United States government.

Again with the smoke and mirrors!

Once again, we are presented with the “look over here while we do this over there” style of leadership and journalism.  We are encouraged to focus on this man’s theft of others work, which is bad enough.  But we are being quietly asked to look away from his huge human rights violations and, his intent to spread this all over the country.

And I will remind some of my friends on the far side of my opposition that this is not good for you either.  Just like any military or para-military operation, there are some things that are considered “acceptable losses.”  And you my fellow Americans are those acceptable losses.  So just as with all problems, we can’t call them “black people problems.”  We can’t call them criminals problems either.  Because under this guy, with the suspension of Habeas Corpus that would be possible under his leadership, anyone could find themselves behind bars awaiting a “fair trial.”

To keep it short, but please look it up if you don’t believe me, Habeas is required to determine whether or not a persons imprisonment is lawful.  Can they hold you or not, based on the evidence that police or other investigators have provided.  That means that they need more than my word that you killed someone to arrest you and hold you in jail for any such reason.

This is a very fundamental part of our human rights.  It prevents you from spending days to years in jail just because your next door neighbor doesn’t like you.  Seems unreasonable doesn’t it?  Well we don’t have these types of problems because we have Habeas.  Most of us don’t anyway.  Cross the wrong person, and you will be glad for it!

I am not a lawyer, but I know enough about the law to be dangerous.  I think the last few paragraphs are proof enough of that.  And it doesn’t matter if you are black or white, male or female, straight or gay.  I could disappear you for months under a DHS leader like Sheriff Clarke quite easily, for nearly anything.  Go ahead and put on your “Make America Great Again” hat and see what happens.

That’s the problem with attempting to take human rights away from any certain group of people.  You expose yourself to those same violations just by setting the precedence with others.  Walls that keep people out also keep people in.  Something people who put bars on their windows in the inner cities find out when they have a fire.  Seemed like a good idea at the time huh?  I will take my chances with the criminals.  You can’t negotiate with fire.

And this guy is a fire waiting for some oxygen.  Don’t look the other way people.

Drugs Are Bad

So how much crack cocaine do you think gets done at Fox News every day? I am pretty sure that it is a lot more that gets done in most of America’s inner cities and a large part of it’s suburbs. Those people are insane! Really. I sometimes tune in to their shows to see what their spin is, and my God! Either they are serious pure bred racists, heavily involved with mind altering drugs, or they all need psychological help that goes way beyond what’s in the books.

I mean, it’s one thing to have a certain political slant. we are used to that in today’s 24 hour news cycle. A certain amount of crap has to be spewed in order to fill all of that time. When I was growing up, the maximum amount of hours for the news cycle, even on a busy day was about 6 hours or so. But now, they have to have something to say all day and night long. So I guess it helps to have a certain bias to give you something to chase.

But sometimes I just sit in disbelief at what I hear and have to wonder if these people actually believe what they are saying. Am I alone in that? I have to hope that they are just trying to get paid like everyone else who works for a living and that they don’t actually buy into the diarrhea that they themselves are spitting out. It just can’t be. Are our own people, our fellow countrypersons truly this evil? Do they feel and talk this way at home, to their friends, neighbors, relatives, and God? That last one, is a horse of another color, so I won’t go into that, but I do hope they are at least correcting themselves in their prayers. And that’s all I have to say about that!

Quite frankly, I don’t know what to do with it. You can’t combat hate with hate, so that’s out. I don’t really desire to hate anyone regardless of how much they hate me and anything I might stand for. But sometimes, I think that’s exactly what they are trying to pull out from within me. That would give them the ammunition they need to call me a racists or better yet, a thug. Fox news loves throwing around that word. Could be the new “nigger” for all that?

I can hear the sound of rolling eyes from all over as anyone might read this, but I have to say that such a canned response is no longer believable. Nor is the “playing the race card” crap, for that matter. It is what it is. When you show me the stats showing the white kids randomly shot buy cops on a daily basis, then maybe I will start to lean in Fox New’s direction. If it’s happening, I’m sure not hearing about it, and I know that I would. We all would. Then, we would have a problem. But as long as it’s just “thugs” being killed by police and random neighborhood watch members, there’s no problem. Just a bunch of animals destroying their own city. Those are not my words, but words Tweeted to me by a nice “non-racist” gentleman from Missouri last week.

Animals? Well, yeah. That’s what we do with animals right? Hunt them and kill them. And I guess it’s hunting season lately. I would love to suggest a hunting season of our own, but then I would be simply another “thug” that would need to be wiped off the face of the earth like any of the other animals correct? Well, worry not my friends; I will think of something else. And the solution will be more painful to some people than anything physical could ever be. This is my warning post.

There are some, cheered on by Fox News and others who seek to exterminate us. And then there are some who are eying you with the intent to make you feel the pain for every single unarmed child that you kill. And you will feel it, I promise. I am sure that I am not alone when I say that I am tired of asking nicely to be treated with mutual respect, and having that request spit at, and stomped on, and ultimately killed by someone thinking they are some kind of God doing society a favor.

While we, as a country, shake our fingers at everyone else for the way they treat their people, we are still treating an entire segment of our population like the animals that some people trapped in the 1800s still think we are. And these people are teaching their kids the same ideas that were taught to them.

Well, I’m not asking anymore. Stop asking. Start telling. Start showing.

Have a wonderful, rose-colored day.

Keep Asking

I am curious today.  Not that I am surprised at the outcome.  I am becoming surprised at the reaction.  “No peace, no justice. No justice, no peace!”

Fine.  There is still no justice.  Why is there still peace?  When?!  When are we going to decide that we are going to protect our own children?  The justice system is not going to do it.  I think that’s been proven over a much longer history than just the two Florida cases that we have recently observed.  I have posted on this blog before, my observation of what a young black life is worth in this country.  How much more proof do we need?  How many more children will we bury before we decide that this is not acceptable?

Blacks have been asking for decades to be considered human beings.  We have continually accepted breadcrumbs and symbolic gestures, and continue to observe no real changes.  We bury child after child after child, and we observe no real changes.  We elect a black President.  And still, no real changes!  In fact, in my own humble opinion, it has gotten worse since that time.  Try and vote in Texas without your gun permit.  Try and use your student ID.  And yet we keep asking.  Nicely.

I ask again.  How many more children will we bury before we decide that this is unacceptable?  You say it’s already unacceptable, but are you ready to do something about it?  By any means necessary?  Do you have a limit?  What is it?  Are you aware of how the Irish gained respect in this country?  Would you be willing to go that far?

I have some strong feeling about all of this.  Obviously.  But I’m going to stop here.  I want you; the people, to think about it for a while and we can revisit our options.  While you are thinking about it, ask yourself this.  If I had fired my weapon 10 times into a vehicle full of unarmed but tough talking white kids in a claim of self-defense; would I have gotten off as easily as Mr. Dunn last week?

Ask yourself.

Love you guys,

Toby

Twelve days into the year and we have already had 14 homicides around Baltimore.  As someone who lived in D.C. when crack was new and we were the murder capitol as well as the country’s capitol, I had hoped we would never sink to such lows again.

I am wrong of course. Detroit, Chicago, and Baltimore have followed suit, as well as a host of other cities over the years that should not have equal billing. None of these cities should be on any such list. Primarily because it should not be that easy to kill someone.

I am not talking about the firearms debate because it’s not really about that. I understand going after them because it would seem the easiest way to curb the random and not-so-random violence that is striking all of our neighborhoods all at once. However, it goes beyond that.

How does one human being kill another human being in any situation outside true survival. True survival being a more tangible reason than just “fearing for my life.” Perhaps in a fight over what I knew was the last drinkable water on earth, or the last fertile female with whom I might start to re-populate the earth, I could kill quite easily.

But who knows? During a similar discussion with someone in my inner circle, I was told that he wouldn’t even want to kill for those reasons. I am skeptical, but have to take him at his word while hoping we never have to find out.

With all of that said, I find myself feeling flat that one person close to my family had to spend her Christmas having lost her brother about a week before. That homicide remains unsolved of course. He was found shot to death. That’s all we know.

Number 14 was found similarly in a crashed car this morning. Now I wonder what we can do under the circumstances. There are 350 days to go.

The Game of Syria

I had been debating whether to post on the lack of participation in the March on Washington by Republican leadership last week.  That whole thing has left me with a lot of questions.  But it seems the new game of Syria has distracted me from a cause I wish I didn’t have to take up.

The first round of the game is the reaction of the world to President Obama’s decision to withhold action and defer to Congress for backing.  From the people who have tried to taunt the United States by calling it a cowardly move, to the John McCains who are now claiming that Obama did not need to ask for permission to make a move.

Am I the only one who thinks McCain would have been the first person in line to have the President impeached for putting the US in a war without asking Congress?  Sometimes it’s not the racism that bothers me as much as the feeling that all of these guys and gals on The Hill think that all of the American people that voted them into office must be stupid.  Maybe we were stupid for voting for them, but we’re not too stupid to see the games they play, and with other peoples lives at that.

The lives of the Syrian people are at stake.  The lives of our women and men of the armed forces are also going to be at stake shortly, and we’re still catching our breath from the last 12 years of straight war.  But it’s all a polictical game to some people.  A President who has to delay action just to cover his ass and a Senator that has to find a fault with a man covering his ass.

That is in my definition, a game, and with Russia, China, and Iran not wanting us in there, this thing could be getting bigger before it gets smaller.  Like a giant penis with a bunch of little penises running around trying to control it.

I’m not sure what to make of this game because I don’t see that a winner is possible in this one.  I am on edge because I do think that there should be serious consequences to using chemical weapons on anyone, much less citizens of your own country.  I empathize with people that disagree, but if you’ve ever seen what that stuff does up close and not on video or better yet, had the stuff used on you; I suspect you would be feeling about as prickly as I’m feeling right now.  And if you don’t want to find out, then we have to do this.

For all my buddies out there in the Architectural field, check out this article on Yahoo! from our friends in the UK.

Sex Tape? Russell Simmons?

So I hear Russell Simmons made a Harriet Tubman “sex tape”?  No wonder he’s got some much corporate money behind him.  Slam your history.  Then you will receive fortune.  I have learned so much over the last few months.  I don’t know whether to be happy or sad.  Sad I believe, because I have been doing things all wrong all these years.

Learning guitar, attacking real criminals, and loving and respecting my cultural history.  Stupid, stupid, stupid me!

Making bombs, killing kids and trashing my culture’s heritage of struggle and strength.  That’s all there is to it right?  I’ve been working at being comfortable for the last 35 years of my life and all I had to do was become a modern day Minstrel.

I guess it doesn’t matter now.  If I started doing the old soft shoe, no one would care.  “Oh he’s just imitating Russell Simmons,” everyone would say.  And I’d just be a broke Minstrel.

How much longer can I be expected to be mad with Rush Limbaugh under these conditions?

Hey Simmons?!  Why don’t you make your next one about how Jesus must have convinced the Apostles to follow him?  Use your stupid imagination.  I’m done for now.
